Mt. Tsukuba
– One of the famous mountains in Japan –
“Mt. Tsukuba in the east, and Mt. Fuji in the west.”
Because the color of the mountain’s surface changes to purple when basking in the morning and evening sunshine, it is said that Mt. Tsukuba is a Reiho (a sacred peak) of the Kanto region, and is called “Shiho”, means which means “Purple Peak”.
In addition, Mt. Tsukuba itself is a sacred body, and has been a place of worship for Iwakura since ancient times, that why there is a powerful power spot. In addition to the “Gama-ishi”, which is modeled the famous “Toad” of Mt. Tsukuba, there are many strange rocks and mysterious stones scattered around. One of the attractions is climbing while enjoying the origins and legends of each.
Peak of Mt. Nyotai
Mt. Tsukuba has two peaks, which is Mt. Nyotai (means woman’s body) and Mt. Nantai (means man’s body).
Mt. Nyotai is 877 meters above sea level, and the highest spot on Mt. Tsukuba. You can enjoy the most wonderful panorama.
Tsukuba-san Shrine
This is an old shrine, has 3,000 years history, and is one of the most famous shrines in the Kanto Region.
It is said that this shrine has the power to bless matchmaking or marital harmony.
Let’s enjoy the beautiful scenery of the four seasons woven by nature!

9:50 Meet at Tsukuba station (Tsukuba Express) with guide, then take a shuttle bus to Tsukuba-san shrine.
11:00 Start trekking from shrine to ropeway station (about 60min), then take a ropeway to peak of Mt. Nyotai.
12:30 Enjoy trekking and lunch (about 2.5hours)

You can have lunch in a scenic place of this area.
15:00 Take a cable car to go down, then visit Tsukuba-san Shrine.
16:00 Take a shuttle bus.
