Background:
Born in Hokkaido and raised in many different parts of Japan as my father was a public officer. This is probably how my passion for the tourism industry might have started. Majored in Italian at a university in Osaka. After graduating from university, worked in clerical and teaching jobs.
Moved to the UK to improve my English, and lived there for two years in 1995-1996. Completed Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the University of Reading.
After returning to Japan, experienced various occupations, including a sales representative and an editor in the English Language Teaching sector. Have been working as a licensed guide-interpreter in English since 2014.
Live in the city of Sagamihara, near Tokyo, with my husband now.
Specialties and Hobbies:
- Have a strong interest in Noh, a traditional Japanese performing art.
- Love watching old films. My favorite filmmakers are Kurosawa, Fellini and Visconti.
- Enjoy exploring restaurants.
